Nate and Miguel, post-workout in the heat.
Heat. Summer. Workouts. Sounds like a good time to skip CrossFit, huh?
Well, don’t. Just because it’s hot doesn’t mean you have to stay home in the A/C and play with your iPad. (You’ve got time to do that after your WOD.)
Come in. Sure, we don’t have A/C but we have creativity. Yesterday’s WOD involved ice bags. Today, possibly water buckets. This is the kind of stuff you remember from “Field Day” in elementary school. Work, fun, and a bunch of sweat. Dropping down dizzy on the cool grass afterward. It’s the exact kind of stuff we don’t get in real life as serious adults . . . and that’s a shame, because the closer most of us get to feeling like we’re 10-years-old again, the closer we are to free.
So, drink fluids all day, put on as little clothing as possible, and come to the box anyhow. You’ll get your workout in, you’ll feel better. Heck, if we can find a hose hook-up, we could even have a sprinkler. When’s the last time you ran through a sprinkler or tried to lunge with a water bucket over your head? Yeah, that’s what I thought. See you at the gym. It’ll be hot but it will be FUN!

HEAT!!! I love it. I feel I have some of the most rewarding work-outs in this stuff.
It was so good to see Chris back and going full out.
BTW I ran through a sprinkler with the grandchildren on Sun.

Did N8 and Miguel really drink all that water themselves?

Hey CFW! Becky, Sue and Anita are competing in the Griskus tri tonight!! Wish them luck!

Thanks, Rich! Yesterday was a great time. Weather conditions like this certainly make for some creative WODs.

I agree, it was great to see Chris back at it and running like his old self yesterday. Lis, you just told us to wear as little clothing as possible….I’m curious how far Jen will take that. I’m thinking about purchasing some short shorts myself. And, I ran through a sprinkler last weekend with Jax. There are some funny pics on facebook of Jax sticking his head over the sprinkler.

It’s funny that you mention the last time I ran through a sprinkler because it was in fact yesterday at about 5:00 on the 16th tee of Western Hills Golf Course and I was fully clothed and drenched in sweat.
Good luck tonight everybody. Ray and I are going to hit the 5:00 class then head up to Quassy.

Good luck tonight, girls! I will be there cheering you on!

It was damn hot yesterday and I was so excited to come to CFW @7 for more fun after my run, but I guess I should have got my butt there earlier to run with the ice bags!

LOL — only you folks are busy running the sprinklers. Good on ya!
Good luck to Becky — and to the team of Sue/Migs/Anita — in tonight’s Pat Griskus Tri. I’m going to head out there, wearing a CROSSFIT WATERTOWN shirt, of course. I had hoped to make my return to triathlons this year in the Griskus again, but that wasn’t to be. So I’ll be out there cheering folks on — might hit the 5pm class too. If anybody else from the 5pm wants to head over after class, let me know!
