CFW Daily

Sue and Matt enjoy their 10 sue10secoffseconds off during a Tabata series of push-ups.

We’d like to thank everybody for their support of the CrossFit Games Northeast Regionals. A bunch of you are volunteering your time to organize, judge, and staff the event in Albany — that’s fantastic. And to those of you traveling to support Melissa as she competes — thank you also. This community stands strong when it stands together.

Due to our level of commitment, we’ve (unfortunately) had to adjust our class schedule for Fri, Sat, and Sun. So, here’s the scoop:

Fri 6am will be taught by SUE! Everybody who can make it to this class — BE THERE! We’re going to rock the house at 6am on Friday!

Fri Noon class is our man Mikey! Come in and challenge his eagle eye!

Friday Night Fights (the 5pm) are canceled for this week — sorry! We’ll hit it hard next Friday night.

Sat and Sun 9am classes are canceled.

In the great news dept, you can attend CrossFit Central CT classes on Sat for free! You have to head up to Hartford, but maybe you wanted to go shopping also? Call them if you’d like to drop in!

Thanks for understanding about the changes. We really do appreciate your support.

Now, bring on Albany!

Good Luck Meliss! Rock it chica!

BTW to add to Barry’s previous post from yesterday. I’m in – DFL beats DNF beats DNS – right Lis? And I will hide a lighter in a ziplock bag in my sports bra – by that point in the race i will need eggs!

“Enjoy” is an interesting word choice ;)

YEAH!!! Go Melissa! I am sorry to say that we have a wedding this weekend so we won’t be able to make it up there, but we will be there in spirit! Go get ‘em!

Lastly, for those interested in coming to Hartford on Saturday morning (please do, it will be fun!) – we run a 8:45am CrossFitter class and a 10am beginner class. Either or is fine – though the 8:45am will be more intense/fun. If you are down, you can post up here, call us, or just email us. I just want to get an idea of how many to plan for! I have some ideas for an evil fun wod…

    I’m kinda bummed that I can’t take Nate’s Saturday class…. I hear that they’re killer…

Melissa… take a deep breath and channel that fierce woman we all saw at Sectionals! No matter what, you’ve already taken yourself to new heights. So proud of you chicka! Rock it this weekend!

Jay and Pete, see you Friday at 6?

  4. Rachael Says:

    Dearest Sue,
Pete and Jason will both be there Friday at 6am. I will be also :)
    We’re looking forward to it!

Great WOD last night. It’s amazing how the tabata pushups catch up with you. I went from “taking it easy” and getting double digits in the opening rounds to hardly being able to string 2 or 3 together by the final 2 rounds. The dead lift tabata was evil, too. Aiming for at least 3 lifts for each 20 seconds sounded pretty easy, but I only got to 4 in a couple of my rounds. And, big props to Sue for rocking the jerks. She threw around 135 like it was a feather and could hardly believe she had just lifted that much. It was impressive to watch. CAN’T WAIT FOR ALBANY!!!

I’m in for Saturday, I haven’t seen the new place yet.

  7. Cheryl Says:

    Good luck Melissa!!!

N8 – Ray Ray and I will be there Saturday.

  8. sueloz Says:

Yeah Kirk Daddy! You’re the best coach!

  9. ROCKSTAR Says:

Best Wishes to Melissa. She has become one tough beotch! Would luv to cheer u on but unfortunately I’m oncall. Someone please take lots of pics!

  10. matt lisk Says:

    Kick some arse Melissa!

On a side note, pushups ruin my life!

  11. Kirk Says:

Matt, you’ll be pounding out pushups in no time, don’t worry. Look how far your deadlift has come already.

  12. Nathan Says:

Cool! Glad we got some takers for Saturday! Might make it some sort of team event depending on how many people sign up. Either way = fun times! If y’all are lucky, my DIY Ghetto Prowler will be complete.

    Otherwise, a few quick notes/observations:

    1) Sue rocked that 135 and made it look easy! I would have never known that was not only her 1RM max, but she threw it up 4 times! You are a badass lady-chic!

    2) Anita has been kicking some ass as well! Throwing some weight around she is.

    3) 6pm class in general? Crazy town! Gone are the days of 2, 3, sometimes 4 of us! Bring it on I say! Good people and good times.

    4) Kirk. Daddy.

  13. Cheryl Says:

Ghetto Prowler??? Can’t wait! And you’re right about Anita…she is becoming one tough beoch!

  14. Kirk Says:

Anita is so tough, she walked into class last night and immediately started doing burpees, and then EVERYONE else in the class joined her. haha.

  15. Nathan Says:

@Kirk: I remember that. You were all like “No Anita! Stop! Don’t over-exert yourself!”

Cheryl just called Anita a tough beoch?! :)

  16. Lisbeth Says:

Omg, Cheryl goes ghetto. All hell is going to break loose now.

Anita is just beginning to realize how strong she is — and it’s great to watch! Go Anita!

And Sue put up that 135 x 4 like it was helium. I just kept looking at the bar, like “She had what?” Fantastic.

  17. Lisbeth Says:

Hey Sue — when are you competing in an Oly comp? You KNOW Coach B is going to ask the same question in another week!

  18. melissa Says:

    SUE, SUE, SUE!!!!!! gO GIRL!
