Jenny (one of our newest members) learns ring rows.
This is how it used to look all the time in class, a few years ago. One person, two, maybe four. Who had ever heard of CrossFit? It was some crazy thing that Internet crazies did. And a bunch of weird folks in the Old Pin Shop, pushing tires and snatching barbells and running with odd objects up and down Main Street.
Well, times have changed. CrossFit has exploded all over California and Florida and the rest of America. And it’s finally exploding in CT. The number of CrossFit affiliates has doubled in the past year alone.
Walk into the 5pm class now at CrossFit Watertown and you’re likely to find 15 people there — and another 10 waiting for the 6pm to start. And that doesn’t even count the members who came at 6am and 12 pm.
And this is group personal training. It’s not aerobics class where they pack you in and yell stuff over a microphone and don’t seem to care if you do it right or wrong or you learn anything or you get any results. This is personalized coaching, with at least 2 coaches leading every evening class.
So, you know what we’re going to do? Add a class. There will be a 7pm class on Tuesdays and Thursday nights now. Starting next week, May 4th.
And if we have to add more after that, we’ll add more. Growth is a good thing. Thank you for your support of CrossFit Watertown.
SCHEDULE ALERT: Sat 9am class will be held at Veterans Park in Watertown.
Oh — and the Fri 5pm class is a team competition again.

Growing like crazy!!! All those athletes, every one of them so determined and crazy Crossfitters.
I would sign-up for the regionals in a heartbeat but alas it’s not in the cards this year. I’m so disappointed I can’t be there to support and cheer for Melissa, our CFW superstar!!!

The growth at CFW over the past few years has been just amazing. I remember the days of me being the only one at the 5:00 class. The Filthy 50 by yourself isn’t quite as fun as you might think. Even the noon class used to be only 1-2 people strong. We’re growing on all fronts and it’s pretty amazing to watch it all unfold!

I cannot believe I missed out on McGhee. I’m never taking another rest day again. I miss all the best stuff.
