brandonSay hello to Brandon — he’s one of our newest members but he’s going to be smokin’ those WOD times soon, without a doubt. Welcome, Brandon!

(There are a bunch of new members at CrossFit Watertown — if you’re an oldhead, remember to say hello and help out. Thanks!)

In other news, here’s the deal on the Feb Rowing Challenge. Look at today’s date: Feb 16th. Now, pick a reasonable goal for you to reach by March 1st. Reasonable. Not whacked-out and not wussy. No injuries but no sloth component. Write down that goal on the whiteboard today. If you reach it, we’ll toss your name in the raffle. Any questions, ask a coach or ask in Comments.

    I think Brandon will fit in with our crew. His first official WOD, if I’m not mistaken, was 150 wall ball, and he came back for more. That says a lot about a person. Most mere mortals would limp home and never come back after that WOD!!

    With the toughmudder – if you haven’t looked at the map & breakdown of events yet you definetely should ( http://toughmudder.com/events/bear-creek/bear-creek-map/ ), I first thought it would be a nice warmup / intro for the Warrior Dash…but its twice as long and greuling. The waiver is a bit intimidating as well and makes me want to sign a bogus name with my left hand. Anyways let me know what people want to do – I’m probably 60/40 (yes/no) at this point, but if others are doing it that would help things

    Well I posted before but wordpress seems to have eaten my previous post.

    I strongly suggest people look at the map and breakdown of the 17 obstacles at the tough mudder…if you need the link just send me a msg on facebook and I’ll get it to you. I orginally thought it would be a nice warmup for the Warrior Dash but this thing is seriousy twice as long and grueling

    Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I am so happy to have found Crossfit Watertown. Thanks again Donna for encouraging me on the last set of yesterday’s WOD. Kirk…the 150 wall balls were ABSOLUTELY brutal and I look forward to many more WODs with everyone. See you guys soon!!!!

    Dan I agree with you. This race is not for novices. Seven miles is a tough run in and of itself. Based on the information on the website: it takes their average competitor 2.5 hours to complete and those people looked like heavily trained athletes. Reminder to everyone: this is time without water, food, or bathrooms (based on the fact that they do not mention stations on the website). This is Murph times two plus some.

    If you want to be able to do this – we have time to train for it. Work in long distance runs with some burpees or kettlebell swings at mile markers. This is not a show up and do it type of race. It will be dangerous if you do not prepare for it properly.

    Good points Dan and Becky. I love anything that challenges me!!! when do we start training?
    BTW, BRANDON Rockstar is absolutely right 5:00pm rocks!!! As a matter of fact all our Asian men (and most everyone) lost their Crossfit virginity at 5.

    Good point, Rich. And — little known fact — Melissa lost her virginity in my garage, as did Janice, Sue, and Mary. Nate lost his virginity to Sue, Mary, and Rich in our old place across the street.

    I better stop now.

    And, yes, Melissa was already married when that happened. Her husband did the same thing a few months later, but we made him stop after 10 min with Cindy.

    “nate was raped” HA!… dude! we were all raped!…My cherry popper: I come in all innocent to “talk” about CF & Lis rapes me- no warning at all- brings me(@ 220lbs) to the point of vomit/blackout. Not long after the assault started- I slid down to the floor- and THEN she handed me a waiver form, “just in case”… Ahhh… I knew when my life flashed before my eyes- I’d love CF.

    I really wonder what other people think when they read our comments. It all sounds so dirty and yet it’s a bunch of people doing functional fitness in an old mill building . . .
