Captain Kirk prepares for another voyage to distant planets.
Or, Rich gets his grip set for pressing.
What’s important here? The act of getting your grip set — and your mind set — before you take the bar from the rack on the press. Preparing is a fine art with the barbell. Too little and you rush your lift. Too much and you screw it up. You have to find the perfect middle for you: the place where you are settled but ready, restrained but eager, peaceful yet hostile. The world of personal achievement in this life belongs to those who learn to channel their violence and contain their aggression until the perfect moment for release. The discipline to know when to release the reins of discipline. The ability to learn when to howl at the moon . . . and when to keep silent. The Tao of CrossFit.

Nice pic, and great points about focus and preparation. BUT, that the last time anyone will see that shirt!!!
@ Rockstar, I think it’s directed at you and everyone else. There are many types of emotions that can be used and “funneled” for focus and motivation. We all have some. One of yours is your need for “Fun and Attention” Use it!!!

I over think some lifts waaaay too much: change my grip 100 times, stare at the bar hoping my Greek mind contrl will lift it, holding the bar and saying “on the next breath I’ll lift” for 30 breaths lol .. then I get stuck in the bottom of some crazy squat cause I freaked myself out- hate that. lol
