Here’s a question for you: What is CrossFit?

Seriously. What does the term “CrossFit” mean to you?

Stop, think about it, and post your answer to Comments. And don’t just wait for others to post and then say “Yeah, what she said.” Think and post. Be real.

Wait, really? I get to be the first to comment!? SWEET!!

CrossFit started as a “workout” for me, but it quickly became an entirely new lifestyle. It’s a lifestyle centered around fitness, well-being and FUN. Finding CrossFit has in no small way changed my entire life.

“Crossfit” to me, most importantly is my path to health and fitness. I love feeling and looking fit and strong with a little competition thrown in. But, just as important is how it has become a big part of a social life, especially sharing with Mary a huge common interest. To me, fitness has many parts, physical, mental and emotional. Crossfit seems to fit all around!!!

  3. Rockstar Says:

Crossfit is the balance of physical and mental fitness

  4. Kirk Says:

CrossFit is a community. Seriously, I don’t think I’d have anyone to hang out with if not for you maniacs.

CrossFit for me is an adjective…its how I describe my life. I try to be “fit” across all areas of my life: physically, mentally, intellectually, socially, and so on… and like CrossFit, I’m better in some areas than others (ha,ha).

I know what I have learned here in the past two years has completely changed me as a person; not just in how I look but in how I deal with everyday life and how I relate to people in my world.

I could go on for days here getting all mushy so I’ll just end by saying that CF means the world to me…Its made me who I am today…which is a hell of a lot better than the person I was a few years ago…and for that I am eternally grateful! What a year!

To me, Crossfit is accountability, discovery, community and humility. I’ve been given a framework through which I can measure my progress towards “fitness” and I see how my approach to the bar is my approach to other areas outside the gym (Thanks Lis!) Crossfit means discovery of what’s possible within myself. And I am constantly humbled time and again.

    Crossfit is indescribable!

  8. Jason Says:

Sorry Liz, but crossfit is all of the above. Crossfit is what gets me out of be at 4:45am three times a week. Crossfit is the feeling of accomplishment and failure I feel each week. Crossfit is pushing yourself to the edge everytime you enter the gym. Crossfit is a community of people striving to succeed. Crossfit is the outlet for former athletes (and non-athltetes) to push themselves to their limits. Crossfit is what life should be, people working to improve themselves everyday, to the best of their ability. Crossfit is work, sweat, pain, and results. Crossfit is a lifestyle. It touches each individual mentally and physically. Crossfit is the healthiest addiction most of us have ever had. Thank you crossfit, and all who are a part of it, for making such a wonderful impact on my life.

  9. Sue Loz Says:

    Wow Jason…beautiful!

Nice, Jason! “The healthiest addiction most of us have ever had” . . . so true.

Good words. Thanks for them — and for being one of us.
