Like it or not, winter is coming — which means more rowing, less running. And there’s only one thing that will make rowing more enjoyable — deciding that you’re going to conquer it.
You can either think “My rowing sucks” and “My rowing could use a little work” . . . or you can decide “I’m going to learn how to use that #$%^&** rower and I’m going to stop getting my butt whupped by 43-year-old mother with a 28″ inseam!”
The Concept II rower is a simple machine that rewards those with good technique and punishes those who do not learn to use their bodies efficiently while using them powerfully.
We have the knowledge and the coaching to make you a better rower. Do you have the heart?

“Don’t hope, my friend. Decide.”
September 29th, 2009 at 8:27 am
I like rowing, I like rowing, I like rowing, I like rowing…
September 29th, 2009 at 9:10 am
I like rowing. Who doesn’t like rowing?
September 29th, 2009 at 9:45 am
There are those who hate rowing, and do it poorly.
And those who like rowing, and do it poorly.
And then there are those who like rowing, and do it well.
But show me someone who hates rowing and does it well, and I say you have found a teacher.

(And yes, I have been reading the Tao Te Ching again.)

I dislike rowing but it makes my booty perky
September 29th, 2009 at 10:08 am
Lis, thank you for posting those Youtube videos. I have now wasted an hour, oh, if I could only stay focused. Rowing form led to rowing crashes which led to the world record 500M on the erg which led to, lets just say other world records. I must get back to work.

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! Post of the Day by Rockstar!
September 29th, 2009 at 11:35 am
I dislike anything that requires all that work to go no where. Rowing is by far my least favorite thing to do i Crossfit.
September 29th, 2009 at 11:48 am
I can’t help but think that today’s post is talking directly to me. The little rowing clinic that we did a few weeks ago helped, but I’ve still got a ways to go. At least I get it now. Slow down, slow down, slow down…
September 29th, 2009 at 11:51 am
all this talk about winter & rowing is depressing me. going out for a run to make it better!!!
September 29th, 2009 at 11:55 am
The winter will come.
Let it.
At least the cold is not in your heart.
September 29th, 2009 at 12:05 pm
Yeah. Let it come. Who needs virtual shoveling. Real men and women shovel real snow.
September 29th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
@Mike, do you have the same feelings for virtual shoveling that you do for rowing? All that shoveling with nothing to show for it.
September 29th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Lis…making with the profound poetry…how sublime.
September 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm

September 29th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
Yes I do. No big pile of snow to admire.
September 29th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
I WILL learn to row….this way no 43yr old, 23′ inseaming, smack talking mama won’t be able to leave me in the dust on that damn erg!
I will learn to row.
Then I can kick your butt Lis.
No more bad rowing.
September 29th, 2009 at 1:16 pm

September 29th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
I’ve got nothing to add nor a haiku. I would have to actually google haiku to create one.
September 29th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
