CFW Daily

Jen helps Mary stretch and increase her ability to keep her elbows high during the front squat, while Melissa helps Bob learn to stabilize himself on the rings.jenmarystretch

melissabobringsThe coaches matter in CrossFit. If you want to learn how to CrossFit safely and correctly, then you need to pay attention to your coaches. And, like with anything else in life, you get what you pay for. CrossFit Watertown is not just a gym. We never will be. We hold classes and we instruct because we simply can’t stand back and watch you do things incorrectly or in an unsafe manner. That’s not who we are.

We’re not aerobics instructors. That’s why you won’t find us standing in front of a class of 25 people, holding a stopwatch or leading ‘kickboxing.” That’s not who we are.

Who we are is a staff of experienced, educated trainers that gives a damn about you, your body, and this community. That’s why we go to numerous CrossFit certifications to learn as much as we can about the different aspects of CrossFit. Click on the “Meet the Coaches” button in the left sidebar and examine our qualifications. We’re not messin’ around here.

If you’re sick of wasting your time and you want to get results, come here — and come back time and time again. Three times a week might give you some results, but five times a week — if you do what we say and also change your eating habits — will make you a new person.

Albert Einstein once said: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Stop the insanity. Walk through the doors of CrossFit Watertown. We’re a whole different kind of crazy.

Notice: The Watertown Fall Festival is this Saturday at Veterans Park. No 8am class on Saturday morning; instead we will have several workouts throughout the day at the Festival. See the sign-up sheet in the gym for more details.

Our Coaches are FANTASTIC! I don’t know where I’d be without them. I think the number one quality they all possess besides their knowlege of CrossFit, is their sense of humor! You can really tell that each one of them loves what they do and they are all highly skilled. We’re very lucky.

Guys, I want to remind everyone that we’re getting down to crunch time for this year’s Fight Gone Bad event. We’re less than 2 weeks away. How satisfied are you with your donations up to this point? There’s still time left, but we’ll be down to the wire before you know it so don’t let it sneak up on you. Get those emails and phone calls out to friends, family, and coworkers. They’ll be eager to help out for a good cause. GO GET ‘EM!

Hi to Bob! and all of the other new members!

  4. mike # 3 Says:

I learn something new everyday. Thanks for the reminder Chris.

Melis and I just got done coaching our first Crossfit Watertowns women’s boot camp. I had a blast! These women can squat! It was a really good time!
Welcome, Diane, Sophie, Deb, Jules, Clair and Whitney!
Thanks to Erin for your help today. Watch out CFW these women are going to be kicking butt and taking names!

  6. jen Says:

Hey Mary and I have matching butts!

  7. Greg Says:

Jen – I hope you and Melissa took it easy on Claire. If she gets too sore, that will mean I get kid duty 24×7.

  8. jen Says:

Intensity is self regulated and she kicked ass so you better get ready for kid duty! Really she did kick ass! Can you rub her back, Legs and arms without getting her pregnant?

  9. Lisbeth Says:

Toon typed her name. That’s it. Child #4 on the way.

  10. Dan Says:

You should of known better Greg…I heard child #4 is a 2 for 1 deal. I’m leaving for vacation tonight so I’m sorry I’ll miss you guys this weekend & for fgb.

Lis for some reason yesterday’s blog post refuses to load on my computer at work, and then it blocks out anything older then it…its kinda odd, obviously Sue’s greatness is to much for my new workstation to handle

  11. mike # 3 Says:

So how sore will Diane be? She won’t tell me no matter how much it hurts.

  12. David Says:

It was bootcamp and the boots, I’m assuming, were made for walking…

  13. David Says:

@ Lis, are you sure that Jen is helping Mary with stretching, looks more like she’s saying, “for Chrissakes Mary, keep your arms up, one false move and we’re all goners. That pipe is delicate…”

  14. Nathan Says:

For anyone that had trouble seeing yesterdays post about our superstar Sue, check it out now – should be all good.

Chalk it up to Microsoft doing what they do :(

  15. jen Says:

    Mike,
Diane is going to be sore, but in short order she’s going to be kicking your ass cause she’s INTENSE!

  16. mike# 3 Says:

I told you she works hard. No one kicks my ass though.

  17. Lisbeth Says:

Mary kicks my ass. I’m actually a little bit frightened of her.

  18. Duffy Says:

you guys are a different level of crazy alright! ; )
