Marine recruits, Marine recruiters, and our coaching staff after Saturday’s free workout. Thanks to the young guys and gals for coming out and trying CrossFit. Good luck at Boot Camp! And big thanks to Big D. and his fellow Marines for their service to our great nation.
The Waterbury Republican-American even ran a story about us. (Thanks to Matt and Josie for coming out!)
In other news, the Lean Out Challenge is coming to a close soon. We’ve got looser jeans and skinnier faces on many a person — who will take home the cash?
Here’s a thought: What about 4:30pm/5:30pm (and maybe even 6:30pm) classes daily? Would that be a worse schedule or a better schedule? Let your voice be heard in Comments . . .

BAMMMMM!
August 10th, 2009 at 6:21 am
I would like 4:30 or 5:30 classes better. And just a reminder to our recruits, if they post their unit address when deployed, I will be happy to send them a care package….

Curse you Jackie and your getting up early for work so you can post first on the blog. I think you better start putting those care packages together now. When you announced that on Sat, just about every recruits face lit up…. or maybe it was because they were staring at your badunkadunk… or maybe it was because Becky in her ‘recruiting’ outfit was standing behind you. In any event, I got to use the word badunkadunk before 7 am on Monday morning.
The 5:30 6:30 works better for me.
August 10th, 2009 at 7:43 am
lol just realized I wrote 4:30…meant 5:30 or 6;30
Greg I’m gonna go with recuits checking out my badunkadunk…

I would love 4:30 5:30 6:30 classes…here is my (selfish) reasoning…in the winter (Nov – March) I would be all about the 4:30…when I am coaching FH the 6:30 class would work out wonderfully…during track 5:30 would be my class
This way I could share my presence with all more frequently
August 10th, 2009 at 8:22 am
5:30 and 6:30 would make it so i wouldnt have to speed to get there on time.
August 10th, 2009 at 8:27 am
I’d like the 4:30-5:30-6:30 combo, especially once the semester starts again & swim season. You never know how traffics going to be on 84 so more options makes it easier.
August 10th, 2009 at 9:19 am
It’s going to be hot today — so be prepared for the heat. But we’ve got a mini-metcon planned that will cool you down too . . .
August 10th, 2009 at 9:50 am
I’d like the 4:30/5:30/6:30 format. Early would work for me (when I’m in town) with the later as options for working late or traffic etc. That way I would get to see Becky more often!!!
A “cool metcon”? I love water balloon lunges
August 10th, 2009 at 10:36 am
Jen – it was great to see you this weekend. Thanks for supporting me in Fran (I heard your voice the loudest) and keeping me sensible during the KB swings. My back is not nearly as saucy today as it could of been if I hadn’t stopped at 5 rounds.
August 10th, 2009 at 10:55 am
Ok, well I’m gonna have to go against the grain here, but starting classes at the half hour would not work well at all for me or my work schedule…but so far looks like I’m out numbered =)
August 10th, 2009 at 10:59 am
OMG – I looked on the crossfit threshold site and saw their beach wod — is the minimetcon something like that? or maybe a waterballoon fight?
Either way – wet tshirt contest tonight!
August 10th, 2009 at 11:17 am
Screw shirts…this is a topless WOD!
August 10th, 2009 at 11:18 am
@Rich S,
I’m glad you stopped! I worry about you and your back! Nice job on Fran way to Pull-up and over that bar!
August 10th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
I just thought I saw Jackie driving up Main street so I stuck my a&^ out and gave myself a few smacks…..but it was not her! Crap-balls!
August 10th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Is there still a 6pm class on tuesday night?
August 10th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Yes. 6pm every weekday night except Friday.
August 10th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
I wouldn’t be able to make any 4:30 classes, but I could make a 5:30 or 6:30. No big deal either way for me. Wish I could go to class today for the water buckets, but I have Jackson duty. See you all Tuesday.

Speaking of bootcamp…….. while surfing the net i came across a blog post about the most recent issue of Self Magazine where Kelly Clarkson says this about her Crossfit workouts:
“It’s like bootcamp! You never work out more than 35 minutes, but it’s so intense … It makes me feel like G.I. Jane. It’s very empowering. I feel like I can whup ass!”
August 10th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
I saw the KC stuff. I’m not sure whether that’s good or bad news.
August 10th, 2009 at 9:22 pm
Liz, Dan, Sue and Nate. Thanks for tonight it was a blast. 5 gallon buckets suck, but is was still fun. My wife is digging my jacked shoulders.
Any KC stuff is bad news! Not all press is good press.

KC?

I find Kelly Clarkson adorable.
Casual observation about the photo: just about everyone that had CrossFitted in the past is smiling, everyone that has not, is not
Next up, scheduling: I can barely make the 5:30 classes, though 6:30 is doable, but if I had my way… 6pm is juuust right. I am flexible though.
@Mike – you moved some nice weight and bucket tonight! Fun time, I am feeling it right now for sure….
August 11th, 2009 at 2:37 am
well someone’s gotta help KC… holy crap.. she’s got a very, VERY bad fat face..
@ Lis… I can wait no longer 4 ur new post…. night night lol
