Focus. It’s what sustains us in the workout, in our eating, in life. It keeps us dialed in and everything tight. When we lose focus, things get fuzzy and loose and we don’t reach our goals.
How to maintain focus? That’s the real question. In a world of distractions and encouraged laziness, how to keep focused on our health and fitness goals? The answer is what it’s always been: A coach, a team, a plan. We’re lucky to have that here. So let’s use it.
If you haven’t read what I put on the CrossFit Affiliate Blog today, you need to. And then let’s decide if/when we want to do our own Lean Out. But let’s come up with a cool name, ’cause words are important too.

CFW Gang,
I need your help after classes tonight. Can you please sweep the platforms after the WOD and use the brush on the Barbells. Thanks! It’s a huge help.

I think what Jen’s trying to explain here is that we all need to be a little more mindful of our equipment usage and putback. We’ve got a few brushes for the bars so you can brush off the chalk after you use the bars — it will help to keep the knurling fresh and nice for all of us. Bumpers in the new fancy-dancy racks. And if you sweat a lot, please bring a towel (or use the paper towels or the Lysol wipes) and wipe down your platform and bar afterward. If everybody does their part, then the place stays clean for each class. We really appreciate your help on this. Thanks a bunch.

After a month of drinking beer & no cfw, I’d love to do a lean out!

Totally in on the Lean Out — Let’s do it ASAP since a few of us have started food logs etc — I’m not good at creating names but:
“Cut the Crap Challenge”
“Body Fat Blow Out”
I can even make a sticker chart…

“Embrace the Suck and Lean Out the Crap” challenge.

How does this work if you’re trying to PUT ON weight?
June 29th, 2009 at 12:20 pm
Lean can be heavier then you think. You can lean out but gain muscle mass. I have a friend who can speak to this. Let me see if I can get him to stop by the blog.

@ Chris – I should have your problem. Wait until you crossover the 50 mark, you’ll have all the weight you want. But then again it’s probably different for guys.

I myself have been on the “Fatten Up CFHQ Staff Member” program for exactly a year now. Little sleep, lots of stress, few workouts, lots of travel, and beer drinking. Works like a charm. +700 affiliates and +17 pounds in one year!
Oh wait. Now I have to take off that 17 pounds again. Okay, I’m in.
Have been getting more sleep since Jen the Wonder Woman arrived to run CFW. And she’s forcing me to eat better. Now, time to learn to love MetCon again . . .
