School ends today. Summer living is supposed to be light and easy, right? Or maybe you decide to throw “light and easy” out the flippin’ window and instead do something real about your body — and your life. Maybe this is the summer you decide to work a little harder in the beautiful weather. Maybe this is the summer you push away the pasta and the grains and get serious about fueling your body in a manner it needs, not in a manner that makes you fat.
Maybe this is the summer that you learn how to really give everything you got on that run, on that clean and jerk, on that bike ride — and then give some more. Maybe this is the summer that you get the body you always wanted. Maybe this is the summer that you get the life you always wanted.
Don’t wait for tomorrow. Don’t wait for fall. Don’t puss out. Take the hard road and make it work for you. Start right now. Today. School’s out. But CrossFit is in session.

Yes!!!! Those are the words of our imfamous Lis Darsh! She makes you want to step it up and push a little harder. My goals for the summer:
chest to deck push ups
one freakin’ pullup
quit the diet pepsi and zone bars (they only get you so far on the diet train)
and of course, train for that mother f’in TRIATHALON!!!
Can you tell I’m psyched that school’s out?
June 24th, 2009 at 9:43 am

Does anybody want to come play watermelon at the power barn this saturday. it’s a really cool lower westchester kids game
June 24th, 2009 at 10:38 am
Eric, I would love to play but I’m working until noon on Saturday. If you want to play after noon, I’m in.
B-Fast: two slices of multigrain toast w/almond butter.
June 24th, 2009 at 10:41 am
Eric, I’ve been wondering about drinking whole milk. Has it helped you gain good weight? I need to do the same because I lost weight after some long periods of not working out because of my job/injury. Thanks!
June 24th, 2009 at 10:50 am
I need to cross some things off my list this summer as well:
Muscle-ups
Better Handstands
Better Oly Lifting
June 24th, 2009 at 11:06 am
You need to cross this off your summer list.
1) Come to the Power Barn this Saturday
2) Do some DLs or Tire Flips
3) Do some version of Murph (anything from a full Murph w/ a weighted vest to a 1/4 Murph)
4) Play Watermelon
We’ll be getting it going at 0800 ….
June 24th, 2009 at 11:13 am
Kirk – I feel as though I’ve gained some good weight. I’m up to 205, about 10 pounds in 2 weeks. My bf is still around 8-10% so I think it works. Granted all I do is Olympic Lifting so this could cause a different reaction than CF but so far it has worked for me. Sorry about the injury
June 24th, 2009 at 11:17 am
make that 3 weeks
June 24th, 2009 at 11:17 am

What is the Watermelon Game? We played the Pie Game as kids here in Watertown. In fact, now that I think about it, we should play that in some odd form of CrossFit way, as a warm-up maybe. Hmmm.
June 24th, 2009 at 11:28 am

@Greg – Your goals were much funnier when I thought it said TAnner, not TOOner.
June 24th, 2009 at 12:46 pm

“Go streak’n down Main Street”
Meet me at the Meat Center on Sat night around 8pm!
June 24th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
Lunch: Whole roasted chicken w/ a mixed green salad.
June 24th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
@Jen.. no way. Your too white and would draw the cops to us too fast. You would be like one of those giant airplane spot lights stores use when for their grand openings. Although we would be able to run pretty f’n fast…. I’ll have to think about this one.
June 24th, 2009 at 2:01 pm
Greg, this is Watertown, CT. I don’t think there is such a term as “too white” here.
xoxxoxo
Mom of the red-headed Latino boy
June 24th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Oh — and my goal for the summer:
Not to have to bail Jen out of jail.
June 24th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
i think its important to keep our goals grounded in reality
June 24th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
since we’re trying to keep our goals grounded.. here are some variations for all you CFW’ers who have handstands on your list.

Roger that, Dan.
The Equipment Fund will now be renamed the Get Jen Out of Jail Fund.
June 24th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Whoooot! Who’s in for Sat’s “Go streak’n down Main Street” WOD!
Hold yer parts and run like hell! I’ve done this before it’s really not a hard WOD!
Coming to a hood near you!
June 24th, 2009 at 6:50 pm
Can we make sure Jen doesn’t get arrested at my house while I’m still away??? She’s already called the cops once but do we really know that she wasn’t involved in the front yard brawl?
June 24th, 2009 at 7:00 pm
Has anybody had experience with Raw Milk?
June 24th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
Milk makes me gassy so I stay away from it…specially when I’m lifting…
June 24th, 2009 at 8:05 pm
Gee, thanks for sharing, Jackie.
June 24th, 2009 at 8:57 pm
LOL Dan, you better try the flying stuff before you try for the 61″ box jump.
My Goals ?
Still the same (if I can reduce my travel, customers stop breaking my machines!!!)
Better Squats in all lifts
Stronger core
MMMUUUP’s
@Jen, I hope you mean “hold yer pants UP” unless you’re in front of me!!!
June 24th, 2009 at 9:22 pm
Eric – I have been rocking the raw milk on and off here and there. It is F-in good, and they say good for you. Granted it is clean, fresh and safe
I trek to Durham to Deerfield Farms to get it – sometimes they have it in-stock at Its Only Natural in Middletown as well.
They also make some darn delicious yogurt.
Mmmmmm….
June 24th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
I was talking about my parts…boobs!
