CFW Daily

hotAh, one of the good things about summertime is the need for less clothing . . .

In other news, at least one of us has started a Food Log this week. Any other takers? See Jen if you’re interested in getting serious about your diet and about how you look and feel.

And, always a good reminder from Coach Mark Rippetoe:

Migs, what was your Paleo B-fast?

  2. migs Says:

4 hb eggs w/out yoke. 2 cups of strawberries dipped in almond butter.

  3. Eric Says:

Paleo, if nothing else, is the best excuse ever to eat red meat in front of vegan significant others

  4. Jen Says:

Nice! I just made a Fruit drink. Strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Two spoon fulls of Almond butter a touch of Local honey and a glass of water in a blender.

    Migs, Why no yokes?

This can be a party drink also just add Rum!

  5. Janice Says:

I was going to say alchohol was missing and then…the last line LOL!

  6. Jen Says:

    Jen

  7. migs Says:

    Jen, yokes are gross.

  8. Sue Says:

    Our gym is so photogenic!

  9. Chris Says:

If we’re talking breakfast today, I had 2 hardboiled eggs and some greek yogurt.

  10. Jen Says:

  11. Jen Says:

Chris have you had this http://www.skyr.is/Products/Plain/

I don’t eat it anymore since I’ve given up dairy but as a treat I may just get some. The protien is higher then Greek yogurt I think. Stay way from the ones with berry ones because then the sugar goes way up. I used to add a touch of honey. The texture of this is awesome….Ok I miss it! UMMMMM

  12. Lady V Says:

I want to diet!!! Just keep the alcohol out of it…I get very upset when people try to take it out of the equation!!!

  13. Jen Says:

Lady V, we can talk about it. No worries I wont touch your drinks….unless I’m sneaking a sip!

  14. Lady V Says:

    That’ll work!!!

  15. Greg Says:

Anybody notice something in the picture that isn’t quite right? I fear for my safety.

  16. Jen Says:

    The ring straps?

  17. Eric Says:

Breakfast – 1/2 pound ground bison (grass fed) with 6 eggs scrambled on top of an avocado smothered in hot sauce with 1qt. whole milk… delicious

  18. migs Says:

Eric, that sounds awesome! I wish I had more time in the morning for breakfast.

  19. Jen Says:

    Eric, that’s hot!

  20. Greg Says:

Nope Jen… It sort of goes along with the theme of ‘warmer’ but think hot… very hot.

  21. Jen Says:

Hope we don’t have a fire!

  22. Greg Says:

Yeap… maybe we can just hang the propane tank below the sign. :)

  23. David Says:

Hello. It’s lonely on the road. I’ll play along with the food log. Are we to post in comments? Just use comments as a sort of confessional? Inquiring minds want to know…

  24. Jen Says:

David, either way works for me. I know when I keep my eating public it helps me to stick to it. Do both if you want to.
FYI, I’m not Robb Wolf or EC. My ideas about food and eating are based on Robb Wolf and my talks with EC. My moto is “Keep it simple stupid” .
If you ask a question that I’m clueless about I have phone numbers and will get the answers.
Science is not my gig. I eat to be happy and healthy and I spend far to much time reading and thinking about ways to be both. Thanks guys!
Get to me tonight and I will talk with anyone who to work on this.
BTW, I hate the word diet, no one ever keeps to a diet. I like to think of it as changing your eating and sleeping for good not for a month or a few weeks….healthy forever!

  25. Chris Says:

It’s true, guys. Once I changed my eating habits, I never looked back. If you look at your current diet as a temporary thing, it’s just going to come back to bite you in the ass later. I can’t tell you how many of my former favorite foods I had to go completely cold turkey on for fear of “relapse” when I first started. Now, those foods are merely an afterthought from days past. It’s actually really easy to give people good eating advice: don’t eat crap foods. Whether or not people take that advice to heart is another story…

  26. Rich Says:

Strap on Strap off. OH!!! and a log is very important. I have some blank sheets (excel) if anyone wants some.

  27. becky Says:

Jen I am very interested in a food journal and improving the way I eat. I won’t be in class until Wednesday, but I will talk to you then. A support group would be really helpful for me.

  28. Jen Says:

I agree a support group is really helpful, that’s kinda what I’m aiming for here.

  29. K Says:

my problem with that pic is- IT’S 5:31AM! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!

  30. Eric Says:

I remember that CFSBK did a thing in November where everybody put everything that they ate on the message board and it really worked for them. It was part of a paleo challenge. I believe that most of the people that participated are still eating clean. If I could be a part of this support group I’d appreciate it. The goal is to get up to between 220 and 230 via paleo + dairy.
Lunch: 1lb turkey with guacomole, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Another qt of whole milk and a diet coke (don’t judge)

  31. Jill Says:

  32. migs Says:
