The Memorial Day Team WOD: there was one winning team and the name wasn’t Team Dirty Women. They led until the squats and the fab 100 Burpees at the end. Yeah, Burpees!
Becky (one of the absent TDW members, due to some silly marathon) is calling for a rematch with Team F You Up. What say you?
In other news, two weeks remain of the Strength Bias program: Suck it up and grind it out. The greatest gains are made in these small moments. Don’t give up now and let those possibilities pass you by. The endzone is in sight on this one.
We’re tinkering with the summer schedule. Look for announcements soon. Get your inputs/desires in now.

My input/desire is to be the first post on the CFW site today.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:16 am
But I promise not to try for consecutive posts….
May 26th, 2009 at 10:16 am
Then again….

With Toon traveling you guys are all but defenseless.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:22 am
How many posts do I need? 9? 10?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:23 am
Becky is too busy begging for a rematch with for the Dirty Women to shank me.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:23 am
Melissa may be a problem, though.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:23 am
I just gotta jump in here so pam doesnt get the record lol
May 26th, 2009 at 10:24 am
Ok.. now I feel horrible 4 going to work.. perhaps my squatting ability would have put us over the top
May 26th, 2009 at 10:40 am
yes K! It wasnt the same without you or Becky…
I didn’t even feel like a real “dirty woman”!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:05 am
Bring on the rematch! Team “F U Up” used Monday as a warm-up.
I think Pamela waits by her computer each morning…she’s stealthy, that one!

Schedule suggestion:
Weekdays 4-5pm, follow the Mike’s Gym WOD’s.
Becky – how’d you do in the marathon? My girl loved the rain
May 26th, 2009 at 11:43 am
As long as the 5:00 and 6:00 pm classes remain, I’m good with any other schedule changes.

If the team dirty women didn’t have a teammate get injured in the 1st round we would have totally kick your asses!. Thanks guys for picking up the slack on the pullups! As for summer schedule suggestions, it would be fun to do a summer challenge that didn’t require one to only be at CFW to participate, but rather incorporate all of the stuff we’ve learned to date, so the person with the biggest % increase/decrease/improvement over the given thing is the winner. Since we are just finishing up strength bias, I don’t think % change in power output over the summer would be on everyone’s hit list, but we could pick something like # of rounds of Cindy, or Grace (since some of us learned to Snatch recently) etc. Idea being something that will challenge us to incorporate good nutrition/rest as well as consistancy with WODs for maximal gain. Just a thought

I will concede defeat – I blame only myself for not hearing the mid-workout statement that ‘everyone can burpee at the same time rule’. The fury of my burpees was very much throttled down from a ‘perfect storm of asswhippery’ to a ’summer breeze of Seals & Crofts proportions’.
Rematch indeed.
And I apologize to my team for my poor showing of pullups – my fragile dishpan hands have seen better days
On another note, the games up in Albany were a blast. My lady-wife has been compiling a video from the footage and photos we took on Saturday – but, much like Tarantino – she can’t continue until she has the correct song.
Chmura… OUT (double chest pound to peace sign LL Cool J style. Word.)
May 26th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
Eric…we missed you on Sunday…would have loved to see you kill yourself for that clean,pull-up, KB WOD. How bad are you suffering today?
May 26th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
I think it’s appropriate to list the members of the winning team yesterday…the MOP, Kirk, Sue, Derek and Mike. (fist bump). Also, is anyone else as sore as I am today? Lats, stomach, quads, pecs and back are all sore. Feels good though!!
May 26th, 2009 at 1:50 pm
@Pamela: I believe you would need 10 consecutive posts to own the record. The standard for a post is phrase-to-sentence. Single word posts will not be counted as reps. The judges will be watching closely.
May 26th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
So true, Kaptain Kirk!
My quads are killing me but that won’t hinder progress on further refinement of the butterfly squat! Prepare for future beatings, ye Dirty Women!
May 26th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
@Sue – I’m a little bit tender. Sunday’s WOD looked fun and way more my game (stupid burpees) but I still advocate that they should have had an oly-lift total as one of the workouts
May 26th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
I almost forgot about the butterfly squat!!I saw its creation mid-stream during the working yesterday and little did I know that I was witnessing history!! The NE Qualifyer should have a butterfly squat/butterfly kip competition next year.
May 26th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
So I’ve had serious issues getting my car into first gear since the memorial day WOD…I need to spend some serious time with the foam roller later tonight and I’m feeling borderline crippled – but its awesome and i love it
May 26th, 2009 at 6:36 pm
http://tinyurl.com/qvjsaz – found this gem today being highly productive at work
at least one of them is getting decent depth
May 26th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
Darsh-
How about a Saturday morning oly lifting hour…
May 26th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
@Sue: That’s what I’m looking at — say 10am or so.
Contemplating throwing in one or two during the week too.
May 27th, 2009 at 5:36 am
Hey all,
Does anyone want to take me to a farmers market this Sat? Do you know where they are? Can you drive? Field trip anyone?
May 27th, 2009 at 5:51 am
Hello CFW from Kansas City…
@Pamela – I’ll be back on Friday. Enjoy your glory of the 1st post until then.
May 27th, 2009 at 7:46 am
@Everyone: Ignore Jen until she gets a gravatar . . .
And I know where the farmer’s markets are. And I can drive.
