Guess today’s WOD by Jenny’s commentary:
0:58 seconds: “***k!”
7:48: “***k! This thing will make me cry!”
9:53: “***k off!”
9:58: Leaves the mortal world for a few minutes.
Reminder: Tomorrow night is the Beat Dan Out of the Gang WOD/Party at 6pm. (There is no 5 pm class.) Let’s discuss food and beverages in Comments.
An interesting read: The Tools of the Mighty.

ouch…that can only be that beyotch Fran
It will probably be 6:30ish by the time I get up there tomorrow
and I’ll bring some “beverages”
February 12th, 2009 at 11:25 am
I’ll bring whatever you guys want, I just have one request…Sue’s CHILI!!!!!! Are we trying to be healthy here, or do you want to be bad? And, that definitley looks like Fran. Everybody, bring your “A” game tonight!
February 12th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Are we doing potluck? or is there a food theme?
February 12th, 2009 at 11:52 am
I have two words: Bacon Explosion!
February 12th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
Bacon Explosion x 2.
@Jen – No food theme. Bring something you’ll want. If nobody else likes it, that just means more for you
If Dan is not doing going to CFW tonight, I think he needs to do today’s WOD tomorrow with everyone watching, eating, and drinking. It is the “Beat Dan out of the Gang WOD/Party”.
February 12th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Oh.. and I had nothing but nice things to say this morning… unlike the potty mouth on the platform next to me. All sunshine and rainbows.
February 12th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
It’s FRAN!!!!!
February 12th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
@ Greg, that really doesn’t sound very fun at all and I’m sure everyone would get pretty bored watching me laugh, cry and swear my way through Fran
February 12th, 2009 at 12:56 pm
Greg had no words because he was hypoxic. 10 min and change for his first-ever Fran. And he did it as RX’d.
February 12th, 2009 at 1:38 pm
Nice work Greg, I am normally lost for words during that WOD as well.
February 12th, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Yes Greg, You are sweetness and light with bells on!! Congrats on a great Fran today!
February 12th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Hey Guys,
Had a blast last night…nice to meet Greg and Jackie (#2).
Just remember Greg ,when I come back, all cameras are on me…
@ Lis- please note my right side is my photographic side…I’m talking about my face not my butt..
February 12th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
@Jackie: Oh, I never looked at your face.
February 12th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
(It’s the Aretha hat: It makes me say these things.)
February 12th, 2009 at 3:12 pm
We are famous for our “cow chip pie” …
February 12th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Just finished yesterday’s main site WOD — holy cow, that was ugly.
21:27/95lbs
Mods: Tuck jumps, red band dips
Finished first half at 14:03, then it took me over SEVEN minutes to get through the dips and jumps. SUCK! Guess who needs to eat better, WOD more, lose some weight, and dedicate herself more to bodyweight exercises?
Ugh. Can’t we just lift heavy s*** all the time?
February 12th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
@Lis – I guess we know this means… We must insist that at least one other CFW member is in attendance when Kathrine shows up for a WOD. That way it doesn’t get turned into a ‘Let’s just do 3’s or 1’s of lifting heavy s***’.
February 12th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
But, Greg, that might break the charter of the Lis and K WOD Club:
All members must lift heavy sh**.
Only numbers 1, 3, or 5 will be used.
Anything squattish takes precedence over anything metconish.
If it doesn’t involve a barbell, we don’t want it.
Jumpropes are for sissies.
All club talk must center around female body parts.
(Did I miss anything?)
February 12th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
@lis, nice job on 95#, I got nowhere near that. see you tomorrow!
February 12th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
What did you do? Jen C. did a lot better than me! She got 17 min something, with a lighter band.
I think next time I need to concentrate on getting 3 cleans in a row each time, instead of 2. Oh — and all that bodyweight junk.
February 13th, 2009 at 1:20 am
I’m all for lifting heavy sh*t. That workout (the tuck jump, squat clean ringding suck fest) really challenged me. I kept thinking, a “did not finnish” would be ok or “Hey, maybe you could drop the weight on your foot and say you are injured.” It just sucked and I was nowhere near close to as rx’d. When I started, I had 135# and then after rep 1 when I ended up on my arse, I thought no way! So I dropped to 125 and was able to eek out a couple, I think 10. Then had to drop another 10 lbs. It took forever and a day to get through the 45 squat cleans. I used the blue band for the ring dings which was ok, I got through 3 sets of 10 and then 2 sets of 5, a set of 2 and then 3 sets of 1. My performance really depressed me, however, at the end of it I was totally stoked because I didn’t quit and even though I had to wuss up, I finished. I am looking forward to eventually trying Fran. I’ve got 2 pull ups in a row, so I’m a ways away from 21 pull ups, but I look back at my journal from where I started and see the progress. Next year I may be able to do a Fran as rx’d. We’ll see.
I’m looking forward to beating Dan out of the gang tomorrow. Is there still beer in the back? Or should we bring some more?
Cheers…
February 13th, 2009 at 3:45 am
Hey CFW looking forward to seeing you Friday night for the beat down!
February 13th, 2009 at 7:48 am
Yeah I got 17:22 but I’m sure your cleans were much more pretty then mine! I love Tuck jumps so that’s where I was happy!
Nice work Donna!
I felt like crying in the middle because my boys at the gym left me to be in pain alone and unlike tough ass Darsh I need some cheerleaders to get me to push harder.
I was doing one clean at a time and it’s the first time a WOD put me on my knees mid WOD! Yikes.
Lift heavy shit fast!
February 13th, 2009 at 8:21 am
hmmmm… Anybody checkout the main site WOD for today (Friday)? I’m starting to wonder how many of the HQ strings Lis pulls in the background. This is for sure a sign that Dan should do Fran at his party tonight.
February 13th, 2009 at 9:12 am
@David: Good on ya. I could see how tough that WOD was for you, but you pushed through it. It’s never easy to still be working while others are finishing, but that is exactly where we build character, not just muscles.
And beer is always a good thing to bring. Like my mother taught me as a young child, “It doesn’t go bad. Not like fruits and vegetables.”
Wait, that didn’t sound right.
February 13th, 2009 at 9:14 am
@Priscilla — great to hear the PB is sending a delegation! See you tonight!
@Greg: Ah, I wish. Lauren and I are merely sympatico. But it is kind of freaky how that keeps happening.
