CFW Daily

gregdlam Greg, on his way to 400 lbs at the 6am class.

Yup — we’re back from Austin and it’s Deadlift Day! (Which, of course, means we’re all going to get cozy in the safe. Just think of it like the kitchen at any party — where everybody ends up having the most fun.)

There’s so much going on, we don’t know where to start! Wed night is Sushi AMRAP at the Red Door (see the Facebook group for more details) and Fri night is the Beat Dan Out of the Gang WOD/Party. Oh, and in between all of this, we’ll be lifting heavy sh** and kicking a**. Life is good at CrossFit Watertown!

    WOW!!! Greg, You set the bar well beyond me (for now)
    @Barry, be sure to check-out the read on strength training before you look at Greg’s DL numbers.

  2. Jill Says:

    doing the wod @ work again…its just not the same as having someone yell & make fun of me!

    what do we need to bring for the beat dan out of the gang hoopla?

  3. Becky "misses sugar" T.M. Says:

    Barry – pay special attention to #4 (playing video games)

  4. K aka Cracky Says:

    Of course the only reason I lift is for the “man hormone” … My stach is coming in nicely wouldn’t you all say???? lol

  5. Jill Says:

    did 5×5 since I havent deadlifted & wanted need to remember my lumbar curve…slowly getting some strength back so I’m pretty happy about.

    145/150/155/165/175 – didnt lose the lumbar until # 4 on the 175 so thats so much better than I’ve been doing.

    Becky has seen me play video games and she can attest that the activity is, in fact quite, a workout – a lot of arm flailing and calling 12-year-olds n00bs while insulting their parents.

    As for the beer, we all know that it is awesome and especially good for you when consumed in large quantities on a regular basis… At least that’s what I got out of that article.

    Also, this is the second time Chris has called a workout the day before. He also mentioned something about dodgeball yesterday and I would hate to see him proven wrong.

    Also, also, this is the second time I tore my left hand callouses the night before deadlifting and therefore have not successfully deadlifted since early December.

  7. Jackie Says:

    okay the weight is impressive..but what’s up with all the pr for Greg..that’s it, I need to come back…I miss the spot light

  8. Jackie Says:

    @ Barry-betadine for hand callouses…works like a charm

  9. Lisbeth Says:

    @Jackie: You’re so shy, I don’t think you could handle the spotlight.

    @Barry: It’s Melissa/Kirk’s game tonight. Perhaps they like Dodgeball too , . .

    Hey! I left the Sushi menu at CFW…if anyone is joining us, write down the order and I’ll phone it in @5pm tomorrow so its ready at 7pm…sound good???

  11. Greg Says:

    Sounds like a plan Sushi Sue. Thanks

  12. Chris Says:

    @Barry- I also called back squats the day before we did them last week.

    I guess if I’m thinking, “Hmm, we haven’t done *name of lift* in a while,” someone at HQ is thinking the same thing. Either that or I somehow mentally control the WOD for the next day.

    I’m predicting that tomorrow’s WOD involves sushi…

  13. Chris Says:

    @Sue- Crap. I didn’t see the menu there tonight…
