Here we have an artist’s rendering of Dan, Sue, and Kathrine at last night’s 7pm VIP, invitation-only WOD Challenge. (Ooh, how do I qualify for that? Rock-solid technique and undeniable WOD integrity. You earn the Wed 7pm slot.)
And, of course, no Wed 7pm Challenge would be complete without smack talking, so we took a snap (this AM) of the WOD board as they left it. (Note: Times were not officially verified.)
In other news, what do we think about sponsoring a kid in Steve’s Club? Let’s talk in Comments about fun ways to make that happen. Steve is doing good things in the CrossFit world. Let’s get onboard.

Well I’m not sure why you drew Sue with hairy arms & dreadlocks but you even managed to get the broken plate in there – and to think I was worried that it would be a pictureless post today
January 15th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Oh and I think sponsoring a kid at Steve’s Club is a great idea
January 15th, 2009 at 11:17 am
That’s a ponytail, Dan.
Sniff. You know how easily my feelings are bruised.
January 15th, 2009 at 11:26 am
Sorry I see it now – i wasn’t squinting before … definatley a pony tail, and its not hairy arms, its just her arms shaking from the massive weight of the ohs’s, with a smile the whole time
January 15th, 2009 at 11:29 am
Really, K? A cheap shot when I’m not even around to defend myself? I see how it is…
January 15th, 2009 at 11:32 am
Very impressive weights and times on that board last night. It looks like the VIP class lived up to its name.
@Dan – 135 OHS!!! Nice. I’m hoping I can do half of that some day. Did you do sets of three with that weight?
January 15th, 2009 at 11:32 am
Nice save, Dan.
I never noticed before how odd-shaped K’s head is. Almost elliptical, actually.
January 15th, 2009 at 11:33 am
Did K actually break a plate? Which one?
January 15th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
45lb rubber.
I told her to be like Mary and she was like Barry.
January 15th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
I think Lis should forget to bring her camera for an entire week. Just imagine the artwork..
January 15th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
lol @ Chris
@ Kirk, 135 was for 3 on my last set and a PR by 10 lbs for me, I was pretty stoked since i haven’t done heavy ohs in awhile
January 15th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Or we could have guest artists! Sue’s got nice penmanship, and something tells me that Becky might be out of hand on this one.
January 15th, 2009 at 12:57 pm
I would guest artist but it won’t be on Crane & Co. paper. I ain’t no English professor and got no fancy paper and pens….
January 15th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
@Dan, you get the Superman shirt. WOW , big weights.
@Sue, Still our Wonder Woman. I just hope I can get to your weights someday on OHS.
@K, Get back to CFin and you’ll be right back to big weight.
@Lis, don’t give up your day (& night) job. Cameras are wonderful inventions.
Some day I’l have enough testosterone to do some good weight.
January 15th, 2009 at 1:32 pm
Hey, I don’t think Rich has confidence in our artistic abilities!
@Greg: Even if you draw/write poorly, it always looks better on Crane paper. True story: In the Papyrus store in Boston, buying paper, and the Check-Out Chick can’t stop staring at my arms. Finally, she says, “I totally want your arms.” So, I give her a card and tell her about CrossFit and she says, “Oh no, I bulk up too fast. I’d get huge quick.”
WTFO? It takes me years to get to this point but the COC won’t do CrossFit because she’ll have the arms by next week and then be Arnie in a month? Just another head-shaking experience.
January 15th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
BAHAHAHA!! OMG that was too good… and I totally called Chris getting pissed lmao……and my head is not oddly shaped the artist’s scale was thrown off b/c they had 2 imagine me on the floor (which did not happen people!) lol
…and… yes— I broke the rubber bumper, more like-tore it apart- actually lol
AND YYESSSS on the Steve’s club kid!!!
He’s doing amazing stuff with kids that really need it. I’m an inner city kid myself, I know for a fact people like him are an amazing asset to the community….
and if we divide out the cost amongst those willing each month, it’s really cheap and it is a tax deduction people!!!!!!
January 15th, 2009 at 1:41 pm
Lis, I have that problem, too. I may have to take some more time off before I get too jacked.
January 15th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
OMG, Kirk, was that you in the Papyrus store?
You looked so different in that skirt.
January 15th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
what’s the dee-lee-o for tonight’s WOD? my back hurts
January 15th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
@Barry, try some estrogen on that back buddy LOL. Crossfit tonight would be the best thing for it.
January 15th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
Tonight’s WOD is dee-licious. Just ask Melissa, Alex, or Jack. They loved the 6am version . . .
January 15th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Everyone make sure to sign up on the board if you’re interested in the indoor rock climbing place. I need to get a count before I call these people. Thanks!
January 15th, 2009 at 3:07 pm
The truth is that Katherine broke that weight plate with her teeth….she’s that bad ass!!!!!
January 15th, 2009 at 3:11 pm
Hee hee hee Rich’s comment was almost dirty!
January 15th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
@Barry aka Mr. 150 OHS… I told you we should have stopped adding weight in the OHS. You should have dumped the 150 like me. My back feels Grrreat.
January 15th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
Wow, 150 …… thats serious
Can we start a petition or something to get Sue on facebook?
January 15th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
@Greg: Exactly right. I dumped #2 on the 98lb OHS because I wanted my back to feel good today. It had nothing to do with the shaking arms and swaying core and the swirling blackness in my brain.
@Becky: I was surprised to hear Rich talk about “back” buddies too. But I was polite enough not to mention it or dwell on it or bring it up again.
January 15th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
I think we should have a ‘my favorite quote from Lisbeth’ day soon. How about it Lis? It may be your biggest post day ever!
January 15th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Hmmm.
That could be tomorrow. I am due to write an “Overheard at CF Watertown” post and have a few good ones from K, Ray, etc. saved up . . .
And what I want to know right now is why Jackie #1 is NOT on Facebook? That place is made for her!
January 15th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
@Lis- That is because Jackie #1 is too busy with her Planet Fitness friends on MySpace!!!!
January 15th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
I heard Jackie #1 isn’t on FB because she’s to busy preparing for her CFW return next monday
January 15th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
Is that true????? Jackie is returning to the fold???? How wonderful!!!!! I’ll be sure to be there….
January 15th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
By the way…I was thinking of dreads for the summer…..as for the hairy arms….I’ll pass…
January 15th, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Lis, I am on Facebook- Jackie Daddona
I’m the “Red Vampire”
January 15th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
@Sueloz: what’s your FB sista?
