CFW Daily

ouryearThat’s the only attitude to have. This is our year. In CrossFit, and in life.

Throw that attitude into every aspect of your life and see what happens. Don’t be selfish, just be determined. Decide what you’re going to do and do it. Stop sitting around, planning for that perfect day or that perfect opportunity. Take today and make it as perfect as you can.

Somebody a lot smarter than me once said, “Don’t hope, friend. Decide.”

This is our year. Hammers are banging and electricians are stringing wires in our new, expanded location across the street. This is going to be the best year ever for CrossFit Watertown. Will it be the best year ever in your life?

Don’t hope, friend. Decide.

    Words to Live by.

  2. Chris Says:

EVERY new year is the best year ever in my life. As far as I’m concerned, you should do everything in your power to make each day in your life better than the last. Learn something new every day, be it a fun fact or a life lesson. I personally don’t understand people who dwell on the past and regret the decisions they’ve made. What’s done is done. The only thing you can control are the decisions you’re making right now. I don’t believe in destiny or luck. You make your own luck.

  3. Jen L *&^% Says:

Rock On Chris! Rock On Lis!

  4. Jill Says:

    Lis-

That post couldn’t have come on a better day for me. It was well said!

Should be there in the am, depending on if our flight is on time tonite. And of course if my car isn’t frozen!!

  5. Lisbeth Says:

K — it’s overhead squat night. You know what that means.

Dan — are you listening? It’s OHS night!

(And, I put comments about this in yesterday’s comments but here we go again — get me a threesome and I’ll stick around to watch.)

Wait, that sounded reaaalllly bad . . . (I was talking about the Wed 7pm crew!)

  6. Dan Says:

I know!!! and my new shoes arrive today too!!!!!!

I totally missed your post yesterday – I was going to ask about a W@7 and would definately be able to make it if it were to happen *ahem Sue & K lets make it happen – also Alex was there last time but i’m not sure if he reads the blog

and the deads for powercleans was because my traps were killing me from the front squats and clean & jerks that i did the day before so i flipped a coin to see if it was ok and the coin toss gave me the go ahead…and i was really overdue on deadlifts

  7. Tracey Says:

    oohhh… I have not done overhead squats before… Can’t wait… see you at 5pm…

  8. donna d Says:

I’d like to meet those “banging electricians” next time I am in watertown.

  9. Dan Says:

Hey Donna – I like the new squatting kiwi logo, very cool!!! Can’t wait to see it on a t-shirt

  10. Jen Says:

It’s going to be a great year!

  11. Chris Says:

Speaking of deadlifts, I can’t wait to do that deadlift-burpee WOD of awesomeness again sometime!

  12. K Says:

Dan I’m in for 7… even though my upper body is shredded from yesterdays WOD lol..if we can’t get enough I’ll hit up the 6pm….
Tracey- come to the 7pm!! It’s better ^-^
    SUEEEEE.. you better come too!

  13. kirk Says:

We HAVE to set a date for a weekend moving/cleaning/organizing/fixing/eating/
drinking party in the new CFW Facility. We gotta make this place special. We should probably save the drinking for last, in order to avoid dropping 45 lb. plates on our feet or have wall balls accidentally heaved out a window. If there is anything we can do to help, we’ll be there! My cold is still draining me, and as much as I need this OHS workout, I might be out. We’ll see.

  14. Lisbeth Says:

Special announcement: Sorry, the Wed 7pm slot is NOT a class — it’s a “Bring It” showdown. I will provide little coaching and instruction and will instead be one of the attendees. Prior approval is needed to be a 7pm attendee — so far, only K, Dan, and Sue are cleared in hot, as it’s OHS night and that is not something to mess around with.

  15. Lisbeth Says:

@Kirk: Spot on. We’ll figure that out once we get closer to the date. Take care of that cold.

  16. Lisbeth Says:

Oh — and special announcement #2: It appears that a Brazilian Jujitsu place (CT Combat) is going to be moving into the 3rd floor above us in our new spot — and below us is a some kind of machine shop that makes gun parts (?)! Life could get exciting for us all very quickly!

  17. Lisbeth Says:

4 posts in a row. Try to beat that.

  18. kirk Says:

Let me get this straight. I can CrossFit, learn how to kick someone’s a$$, and assemble a gun in the same building? This WILL be the greatest year ever!!

  19. K Says:

Omg.. Pair all that with kayaks, steel forging and remote control cars!!!! Holy shit- plus the liquor store is RIGHT THERE.. our landlord is the coolest guy in the world!

  20. Jackie #1 Says:

Who’s doing you’re electrical cuz it’s not DADDONA ELECTRICAL SERVICES, INC.

  21. Rich Says:

OH Squats @5? Should really finish off my neck

  22. Dan Says:

So are we on for the W@7?

  23. Rich Says:

I see CrossFit/Jujitsu challenges in our days ahead

  24. Rich Says:

Ask Iron Mary about the gun parts manufacturing

  25. Rich Says:

@Lis, is it OK if I hang and watch the showdown?

  26. Rich Says:

Looks like I type too slow

  27. Lisbeth Says:

Wait, and there’s more in the Pin Shop: We also have a BAND and a girls softball league. Maurice (our landlord) has so got it going on. (We are officially now the Island of MisFit Toys.)

If we can just get somebody to make food, we never have to leave again.

@Jackie — lol. I don’t know who Maurice has for electrical.

  28. Lisbeth Says:

@Rich: Sure. In all honesty, it will be a lot of smacktalk intermixed with a little smackdown. Heavy on the talk.

    @Dan: 7pm. Bring it, baby.

@K: I’ll try to remember to write the letter of recommendation for your carry permit today.

  29. Greg Says:

Ha.. just getting to the site for the first time today. How the hell did the comments start out like an inspirational poster to guns/Jujitsu/RC Cars/Kayaks/Band/Softball?
That’s awesome!!!! Just the sort of read I needed today.

I’m going to try to make it tonight for the 5. I need to lift something heavy and go to my special place tonight… special place as in take the ‘Pain Train’ (nice one Dan) to the ‘Abusement Park’.

  30. melissa Says:

Holy Posts Batman! this new location is sounding better by the minute!!!

  31. sueloz Says:
