Tracey and Janice enjoy some virtual shoveling at the 6am class . . . which will make you want to go back to the easier task of snow shoveling!
In other news, the EC Talk/WOD was a major blast! Check out the video in yesterday’s post and head to the Lisbeth Darsh Facebook page for more photos.
And, for fun, two links that will not improve your WOD time but will make you go “What?”: The Bacon Bra and How to Talk Like Frank Sinatra. (Bonus points to anyone who slips at least three of these words into their warm-up tonight.)

@Lis – Your not kidding about going back to easier task of shoveling snow. I had to finish digging my wife’s car out this morning after the WOD. It was like shoveling air.

Hey Lis that Nutrition talk was a gas. It was great. I really dug the WOD too. Nice to see so many broads and gassers throwin’ around the heavy stuff. Gotta scramsville.
Peace

Not for nothing…but isn’t a simple bent over barbell row just as efficient and a lot less akward then virtual shoveling?? Just asking
And there is something disturbing about the Bacon Bra……

After this mornings work-out.. I needed two hands to lift the gallon of orange for my kids…

Silly Dan… How fun is a simple bent over barbell row vs virtual shoveling? FYI.. my forearms took the grunt of the abuse this morning.

so just a vibe I get…I feel like I might know who is behind the bacon bra.. I think she runs a crossfit affiliate… I think she might be in or around the DC area.. Her initials are – Jen from Potomac CrossFit…….^-^

Alas, as much as I would love to do some virtual shoveling today, I am once again in class this evening. I promise to think about virtual shoveling from a Marketing Research perspective though.
Plus, I’m actually pretty sore from yesterday’s little ring dip excursion.

Dan,
Virtual shoveling is functional, BB rows are not. Both will make you strong but they are very different movements. They also both use different muscle groups. Virtual shoveling will hit your obliques forarms and biceps. Rows hit Latissimus Dorsi and lower trapezius. Hope this helps.

Not to be a total dork but I must add that Virtual shoveling also helps with balance and stabilizing. When doing them to give yourself an extra challenge try changing which hand you have the BB in and change the foot your leading with. Since you folks in CT get so much snow you can do that next time your out doing the real thing.
I do BB rows. So it’s not that I’m not a fan. If done correctly they will give you a rock solid core and lower back. Take a better look at the EC photo Lis has up. Great lumbar curve which will carry over into the big lifts.
