Not the best photo of Greg and Kirk, but it shows a bit of what the 5 and 6pm classes have to look forward to! (All sorts of fun — and modifications for those who are learning the new ways of fun.)
Reminder: You might want to wear pants if your rope climbing technique is not perfect.
Another reminder: Sign up for the EC Extravaganza on Sat. We currently have 11 people and it caps at 20, so pay your money down and get your name on the list!
New news: Our moving date is expedited — we’re hoping as soon as the first week in Feb. Heavy lifting will now be in the safe. (We’ve got some rearranging to do, folks!) And we need to be super careful about placing the barbells and bumpers down.
The good news: Once we move across the street to our bigger, better location with concrete floors, we won’t have to worry about this. But for the next month, we need to be mindful and creative.

What if we have no pants?

I AM NOW A FAN OF HSPU’S!!!! Glad we did that workout today. It just teaches you that you might be able to do something, and you didn’t even realize it. Rope climbing is still tough, especially in the middle of a workout. Nowhere to go but up (literally). Tonight’s classes should be fun. See you there.

By the way, I have a mini “Nate” burn on my leg from the rope climbs. Well, if you want to call what I did rope climbs. Not nearly as bad as Nate’s though.
@David. Tights/ long spandex count as pants, so feel free to pull them on and join us tonight.
January 6th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
@David. I’m sure you have pantyhose. Or, I mean Sophie must.
(Or just be Nate!)

Kirk was rock’n the HSPU this morning. I hope he saved some gas in the tank to demo for you guys tonight. If I was there, I could demo all the modifications

@Dan: I don’t count on this one. Need to get one of your peeps to stand up.
January 6th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
umm i think they are called ‘mantyhose’ that is much more manly. right? better tell ec about the weight situation, 6 feet is a long way down.
January 6th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Mantyhose it is!
I think we’ll be okay in the safe. I mean, the heavy lifters. A little “brisk” but okay!

Did we break the building?? Why are we lifting in the safe?
January 6th, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Not ‘we’ Becky… It was you and all your new PRs. Don’t try to hide behind the rest of us.

There is a web site for everyone:
e-MANcipate! is a project to accelerate the acceptance of male pantyhose as a regular clothing item

Today’s workout was an important one for me. It reminded me that I still have a lot of work to do. I forgot that you can’t always fly through every WOD until today, and I’m determined to try this workout again in a few months and totally nail it.

I really wanted to make tonights class but as the day went on today my back was hinting for me to take another day or so off.
HSPU’s and rope climbs? C’mon!!! Looked fun!
January 6th, 2009 at 9:26 pm
can someone tell me why a real man would wear ‘mantyhose?’
January 6th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
Ah, Grasshopper (Chris) you have learned well tonight.
And, yes, as Greg pointed out, Becky broke the building.
(Our landlord is a tad bit concerned. We’ll talk more in person!)
And, Dan/K/Sue — I’m willing to stay and join in the WOD tomorrow at 7pm, but be forewarned, Wed at 7pm will be a coachless WOD. So bring your “A” game and know your shit. You have been warned.

Lis I was able to switch when I need to go in and work this weekend so you can count me in for the EC lecture & wod. I’ll square up with you tonight for it, and thanks again for holding onto the w@7 for one more week, I’ll start joining the 6am twice a week and just go into work a little late.
