Guns Aren’t Just Made in the Gym

So, people, pay attention! The fabulous EvaClaire Synkowski (EC) of CrossFit Boston (and a trainer for CrossFit HQ) is going to be giving a nutrition talk called “Cut the Crap” on this Saturday at 10 am.

She’s got some guns (see the photo!) and she’s got some serious barbell know-how, but she’s also got the lowdown on how to make Paleo and/or the Zone work for you and your life.

Sign up before Wed and reserve your spot. It will be worth it. Limited to 20 people. (PowerBarners and CrossFit Central CT members are welcome to sign up, as are members of the general public.)

    All right…so I’ve been fighting a cold but I decided to workout this morning with Melissa…I quickly found out that I’m not at 100 percent…I immediately went home and took a nap! Someone pass me the vitamin C and a kleenex!!! I’m done for the day! Love that Crossfit…

    Is there going to be any handouts from the cut the crap??? I’d love to be there but we’ll still be in sunny, warm key largo!

    Just so no one gets really jealous that its warm here, its story time – first practice, less than 45 minutes into it; 2 divers cry. Before our 3rd practice both of them decide to quit the team! Of course it can’t be that easy for them to get home, there’s not an available flight home til tomorrow nite. So now I’m stuck with them for an extra day & half. The rest of the team can’t wait til they are gone. Its fun!!

    I’d much rather be home crossfitting!!

    Good job to everyone this morning!

    Sue won the first round of a new game this morning called “Guess Chris’s Mini-Metcon Time.” In fact, she was only under by 1.5 seconds. If this were The Price is Right, she would’ve won BOTH SHOWCASES!

    Lis – it’s a sheet of ice outside! Would there be a delay for the 6am class? It’s the worst that Scott Haney (channel 3 news) has seen in 10 years.

    whoa, lisbeth – thanks for that intro! im stoked to visit your box and looking forward to meeting everyone.

    for those that are curious – i spend relatively little time on the zone. the talk is about two hours – most of which is the science stuff re: hormonal response to food; energy utilization; and fat storage. the next big chunk is what and WHY (IMO the more important aspect) of paleo. the rest of the time is how to adapt it to your life, a little on zone, common pitfalls people make when they go “Paleo”, and my top ten of FAQ (e.g., what about calcium? what about saturated fat?).

    and to donna – thanks for your support! ive made (some) changes – so it wont be a complete repeat!
