Katie’s a gymnast (and the daughter of an old friend visiting from AZ) so she came in and showed us a few things, like this very cool move that showed off her fabulous pants, which read “Chalk Chick”! We love ‘em! Where can we buy a pair?
In other news, did you ever read about Jure Robic? The New York Times ran a great article on his ultra-endurance pursuits a few years back and it’s still an excellent read. You have to respect a man who admits: In race, everything inside me comes out. Good, bad, everything. My mind, it begins to do things on its own. I do not like it, but this is the way I must go to win the race. Sounds a bit like CrossFit, no?
Lastly, today’s dog-friendly mini-interview:

WOD today is the main site WOD. If you did this one about 12 days ago, then your WOD will be to pick your weakest lift of the three and do a 5 x5 of that.
And I’m sure the mini-metcon will be delicious . . .

2:45 am, don’t you sleep? That’s the best pic of me that I’ve seen in a long time. You realy know how to motivate.

Sleep is for mortals. Ha!
(Post times are GMT, I think. Must look into that.)
I thought you’d like the dog photo! And look how she’s sitting so pretty even though there’s a Snausage by the license plate!

1) I just fixed the blog timezone for you, hopefully to the correct one.
2) Filthy 50… hmmmmm…
3) Robic? Wow. Wild stuff right there. I think we also should work out to a “mix of traditional Slovene marches and Lenny Kravitz”

I’m very much looking forward to being able to get through the Filthy 50 as rx’d. I’m going to work on my double unders so that I can do them in rapid succession. I guess that means I’ll need more wall ball practice too.
As far as today’s mini-metcon, I hope it’s as delicious as CrossFit Tire Juice’s™ new Wild Berry Blast flavor! Mmmm… tire juice with a hint of raspberries.

Um, Chris, you’re starting to scare me . . .
Then again, I think this quote from the Robic article is my new favorite: ‘‘In fatigue, it only feels like we’re going to die. The actual physiological risks that fatigue represents are essentially trivial.’’
Oh, and I LOVE Slovenian marches! Who’s got a good mash-up?

I just read the article in the July CrossFit Journal by Sue Lozinski – WAY TO GO, Sue. You CAN do anything! Keep up that great attitude – thank you for sharing your story – your breakthroughs will help so many other women and men who don’t yet know that they, too, CAN DO ANYTHING.
(Way to go, too, Lis)
