CrossFit and Self-Reliance

CFW Daily

Our gang had a fabulous Deadlift Day yesterday: everybody got a PR (including Jackie, photo left, lowering the bar during Overhead Squats.) Good form prevailed as everyone added at least 15lbs to their previous record, including Rich, who (fresh off a nice Outer Banks vacation) pulled 305lbs! Not too shabby for a potential AARP member . . .

Also, here at CrossFit Watertown, we’re big fans of Ralph Waldo Emerson, the inventor of the handstand push-up. (Okay, we just made that up to see if you were paying attention.) Seriously, Emerson has CrossFit in his soul: take a read through a modern adaptation of Emerson’s Self-Reliance essay here (ignore the stuff at the top of the page and scroll down to where the black type starts.)

And, another of our “bite-size” less-than-40-seconds videos: CrossFit Loves and Hates.
